Managed access instead of keys
A mechanical key cannot answer the question "who entered the server room at two in the morning". An access control system can — and more importantly, it lets you define access in advance: who, which door, which hours.
A project begins with zoning: which spaces are public, which are for staff, and which are restricted — server room, stores, clinical areas, cash office. Then the identification method and door hardware are selected.
Access control delivers most when it is not isolated: an entry event ties to recorded video, to the alarm system and, where required, to time and attendance.
